BE&K,
Inc., a recognized leader in pulp and paper plant building
— as well as power and heavy industrial construction,
engineering, and facility maintenance — had been
in the commercial construction business since its acquisition
of
FN Thompson [in 1989] and Suitt Construction Company [in
1996]. In 2004, with conditions improving in the market
— particularly in healthcare and other growing sectors
such as education and life sciences — the company
made a strategic decision to provide a single point of
coordination for all of its commercial construction activities.
As a result, the BE&K Building Group was formed. The
company's leadership sees this combination of forces
