BE&K Building Group

As conveyed at the 3rd Annual BE&K Building Group meeting in April 2008, Sustainability is one of our firm’s primary strategic initiatives this year. A graphic symbol comprised of a tree frog and the word “PRESERVE” will serve as a visual reminder internally and externally of our firm’s commitment to sustainability.

Lexee Zutz, who heads up the BE&K Building Group’s sustainability initiative, elaborated on the concept behind the visual. “The symbol of a tree frog was chosen to represent our focus on sustainability because these creatures are tangible and represent life. The tree frog is an animal whose habitat is endangered, and as the rainforests are destroyed, and our ecological system is altered, the fate of everyone and everything that lives is in jeopardy. The word ‘Preserve’ reflects our need to be conscious of how we live in order to ensure there is a planet for generations to come.
