Greer Memorial Hospital Team Helps Greenville Schools "Share the Warmth"
January 29, 2008 - The BE&K Building Group project team for the Greer Memorial Hospital Replacement Facility and Central Energy Plant in Greer, South Carolina, enthusiastically participated in a "Share the Warmth" community program coordinated by Greenville County Schools' social work services department in January. Our team members generously donated an assortment of warm and colorful hats, gloves, scarves, socks and pants that were distributed to needy schoolchildren to help them through the coldest time of year.
The coordinator of school social work services for Greenville County Schools sent a heartfelt thank you to all of the BE&K Building Group employees based at the Greer Memorial Hospital jobsite. In her letter, Ms. Kathy Barbee noted that one recipient of our "Share the Warmth" items was a young boy who arrived at school with "red raw cold hands" after walking to school that morning in temperatures that dipped into the teens. The BE&K Building Group's Paul Reach, project manager, said, "I am proud to be associated with this group of people who strive to help others in need and live out
'the BE&K Way' — after all, It's all about people."
The Greer Memorial Hospital Replacement Facility and Central Energy Plant project represents a $61 million investment by the Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center on its satellite campus about 10 miles from Greenville. The project is scheduled for completion in April 2008.
